ExtraMed Analyst/Developer

We are looking for an analyst/developer to deliver high quality software solutions to ExtraMed customers (principally clinical end users) using ExtraMed’s chosen toolkit.

Reports to:  Senior Developer

Location:     Edinburgh,Scotland

Purpose 

To deliver high quality software solutions to ExtraMed customers (principally clinical end users) using ExtraMed's chosen toolkit.

Key Responsibilities 

  1. Develop applications using key technologies (ASP.Net, C#, Classic ASP, VB6, SQL Server/T-SQL)
  2. Develop innovative and simple to use end user interfaces using the above technologies
  3. Maintain existing applications using above skills
  4. Work within an agile framework to deliver quality solutions (Cruise Control, MSBuild, WATIN, Nunit)
  5. Deliver working patches to Technical Operations/Testing
  6. Work with customers, account managers and other staff to specify and develop innovative clinical software solutions
  7. To ensure that allocated Change Requests are completed in a timely and effective fashion
  8. To work with other stakeholders on delivering successful projects within an Agile development methodology
  9. To work with the other stakeholders to identify and implement system developments within the framework of the ExtraMed Development Methodology
  10. Participate in product testing days
  11. Work with the Sales team to develop presentations and product demonstrations for clients
  12. To work with the rest of the team to identify and implement improvements in ExtraMed's internal development and implementation processes.

Ideal Candidate

  • 1+ years working in an agile software development environment
  • 3+ yeras developing with ASP.Net/C#, SQL Server and Classic ASP/VB6
  • 4+ years working with user interface design
  • Good teamwork, good communication skills
  • Experience of analysis using UML (or other Use Case Based methodology)
  • Some experience of XML/XSLT, CSS, HTML, VBScript, JavaScript advantageous
  • Some Health Informatics experience (possibly HL7)

Qualifications

  • Software development related degree or HND
  • Microsoft Certified Application/Solutions developer would be a bonus
