NHS Grampian - Aberdeen Royal Infirmary

Aberdeen Royal Infirmary has implemented the ExtraMed Beds system across all of its 50 wards. The system was used by up to 2000 clinical staff during an extensive Pilot Study across 8 wards of the hospital. The aims of the Pilot Study were to measure the effectiveness of the system in improving patient flow through the hospital and also to check how easy, or otherwise, it would be for clinical staff to use the system.

Results from the Pilot Study were very positive, with many clinical staff reporting that the system improved the quality of their working time and gave them more time to spend with patients. NHS Grampian plan to roll the system out across all of their hospials and also to extend access to it for District Nurses working in the community.
