The Royal Blackburn Hospital has implemented ExtraMed's A&E Whiteboard and Beds products to streamline their bed management. The system combines an interactive whiteboard with advanced patient tracking software.  John Goodenough, Lead Matron for Patient Care and Experience at Royal Blackburn said the following regarding the implementation;

“Extramed have been fantastic…they have gone to extreme lengths to pander to our requests as an organisation to tailor the system to meet our needs.
 
We are introducing A&E Whiteboard and Beds in phases across admission gateways and in patient wards and even though it will be some time until all the phases are complete it is already giving us a valuable, responsive overview as and when we need it of patient flow and department / unit activity which users can access from anywhere within the organisation or from home if on call.
 
This is invaluable for informed decision making when initiating escalation processes as key users are accessing this information to ensure patients access the right level of bed in a timely manner.  In a nutshell it provides strategic and operational clarity with regard to patient flow and departmental activity.”
