A&E Whiteboard

Glance at the electronic whiteboard on the wall and you instantly see the status and needs of all the patients in the A&E department.  Who needs your attention?  Where do you need to act to ensure that no-one breeches wait times?  Are there any bottlenecks forming?  Do you need to call for assistance to overcome a blockage?

All the information clearly and Simply laid out in front of you.

You act and watch the results of your intervention unfold on the wall. Or perhaps you watch on the screen of your PC back in your office.  Wherever you are, your staff keep you informed of every patient admitted, test ordered and result received using A&E Whiteboard.  Why?  Because every interaction with the system is easily learned, makes sense to clinical staff, takes only a few seconds and saves them on paper-work.

You take a call from another manager.  A relative has called to ask about the care given to their mother.  You access a report of the patient's visit on the A&E Whiteboard and can quickly explain exactly what was done for them and when.  You explain that this information will be automatically included in a letter to the patient's GP. The relative rings off reassured.

You check the status of the Majors area.  Two patients are highlighted in red, indicating that they require some attention.  You see from the screen that Dr Smith is on duty, you can also see his pager number.  He answers from the desk in A&E. He is able to discuss the patients with you, while you both view the same data .

Satisfied that everything is being done in good time you can spend the rest of the afternoon examining activity data from last month.  You recently put in place a new process to ensure patients return more quickly from Radiology.  The figures show that this is no longer a bottleneck, confirming the feedback from your staff.
